Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to leave my house key with my pet sitter?

It’s your choice whether your leave a key with us or not. If we can adequately care for your pets from outside your home with side gate access only, then this will do us just fine!

We want you to be 100% comfortable with your decision. You should be relaxing on that holiday not worrying about your home!

If I give my house key to my pet sitter, will it be kept safe?

If you choose to provide us with a key, it will be stored securely and kept away from your personal details.

If you do not choose to provide us with a key, please note that we charge a $10 fee for key collection / return if it can't be provided at the initial interview.

Does Pet Sitting plus have insurance & police clearance?

We are fully insured!

It scares us to think that so many other pet sitters operate without insurance. This is so dangerous, as sitters are trusted with your home, pets and personal belongings!  Police Clearance has also been undertaken by the owner to ease your mind.

How do I pay Pet Sitting Plus?

We accept payment by cash, cheque or direct deposit. All payment details will be on your invoice. Please note that all accounts must be paid in full before you go away, no exceptions.

Why is Pet Sitting Plus the safest choice?

We are fully insured and have police clearance to help ease your mind a little more.

Through lots of hard work, our reputation has grown & we are now known as the pet sitters "who are doing it properly". We invite you to compare our service to other pet sitters in the area & you will quickly find out why we have grown so rapidly.

It's a fact that 86% of our customer have used our service more than once!

What happens if my pet gets sick while I am away?

If we do find that your pet is ill, we will contact your preferred veterinarian immediately. Our 24 hr on call emergency vet is Gosford Vets, should we need to use them.

We will of course seek prior approval to do so when working through your personal service agreement. Additional fees apply according to travel and time.

What do I leave out for my pet sitter?

Please ensure there is sufficient food for the duration of our visits. If we need to buy food to get through your holiday, we charge a standard visit fee of $20.

Other items to stock up on before you go away include: kitty litter, pet treats, medicine (if needed), grooming supplies and any other items your pet may need to be comfortable.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Ideally, we would like at least 2 weeks notice for all bookings. Like all good things, we do get fully booked! Unlike other pet sitters, once we have enough bookings we stop taking them. This ensures your pets receive the highest standard of care.

During the lead up to holidays and Christmas, we need as much notice as possible to fit you in. Please note that there is a $30 surcharge for all bookings taken with less than 48 hours notice.

Why is there a free initial consultation?

Our free initial consultation is needed to allow you to get to know us and for us to get to know you and your pets.

During the consultation we will discuss your pet’s individual needs and design a plan to suit your requirements. This visit is a vital first step in gaining your pets trust and familiarising ourselves with your pet’s daily routine.
